On Friday 27 July 2007 the Local Government Reform Commission announced a change to council boundaries and now the areas of Maryborough City Council, Division 1 and 2 of Tiaro Shire Council, Woocoo Shire Council and Hervey Bay City Council will be combined. This new Local Government will be called the Fraser Coast Regional Council.
To facilitate the transition to the new Council the Fraser Coast Regional Council Local Transition Committee has been established. For further information on the Local Transition Committee visit http://www.frasercoastltc.qld.gov.au/.
